INTRODUCTION

Shortly after the first Apollo rocket took off for its trip to the moon, someone in ground control asked the pilot, "Who is driving that thing?" The astronaut's  immediate answer was, "Isaac Newton."

Newton was sometimes called: "the culminating figure in the scientific revolution of the seventeenth century."

In this PhysicsQuest you will explore Newton's life and contribution to optics, mathematics, physics, and planetary science.

TASK

This PhysicsQuest will allow you to acquire insight into the life and accomplishments of Isaac Newton.

You will also reafirm your understanding of forces and applications of Newton's Second Law of Motion.

Finally you will learn  interesting facts about light and color.
PROCESS AND RESOURCES

You will be given a series of questions and various links
to Internet sites that will help you answer the questions.

The PhysicsQuest is divided into three sections:

PART I. BIOGRAPHY.
A&E video: Sir Isaac Newton: The Gravity of Genius

PART II. FORCES AND NEWTON'S SECOND LAW

PART III. LIGHT, COLOR AND OPTICS
